Scouts Hold Fiesta Fun Day Sept. 18
The Lewis & Clark Trails District of the Boy Scouts of America will be holding Fiesta Fun Day at the Lewis & Clark Scout Camp this Saturday, Sept. 18, running from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Lewis & Clark Scout Camp located 10 miles west of Yankton, just south of Highway 50. Cub Scout Pack 290 of Marilla held its annual family picnic at the Marilla Town Park on Aug. 15. The event has turned into a highlight of the summer for many Cub Scout families. Every year the picnic seems to grow in popularity as more games and activities are added. This year, the boys and their families gathered at the shelter for an afternoon of fishing, visiting and playing games.

Scout troop searching for new quarters
A local Boy Scout troop is looking for a new home. Up until July, the youths in Scout Troop No. 1168 met weekly at The Landing Church of God, at 1640 Hwy. 42 N. in McDonough. But when the church’s financial situation changed last month, the group was asked to find a new place to meet, said Mike Katona, leader of the two-year-old troop.
