Rowlett Mayor John Harper honored Devin Granger for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout during the regular session of the July 6 city council meeting. “Granger spent his formative years in the city of Rowlett,” Harper said. “He attended Back Elementary where he was first introduced to Boy Scouts.

East Alabama Scouts awaiting decision from sponsor, Goodyear
GADSDEN, AL (WBRC) – Boy Scout executives are reassuring parents that Boy Scout Troop 58 and Cub Pack 58 are in Etowah County to stay. This comes as Goodyear is re-evaluating its charter. Parents are concerned Goodyear’s East Gadsden plant may drop the Scouts’ charter due to liability issues.

The Boy Scouts of Troop 7 have helped keep the Scoutmaster of the Year physically strong. This spring, Ernie Guy was named Scoutmaster of the Year for the Seven Rivers District, which consists of 24 troops from 11 area towns.
