Thanks for the kind words I wanted to thank Kathleen Ryan of Wenatchee for the letter to the Safety Valve July 1 thanking Cashmere American Legion Post 64 for supporting the Cashmere Boys Scouts and Cub Scouts. The Cashmere Post has supported and sponsored Boy Scout Troop No. 1 since 1923. The auxiliary has also just sponsored a Cub Scout to be able to have his own uniform and go to camp.

SALT LAKE CITY – Authorities say an 18-year-old Boy Scout from Wisconsin has died after falling 100 feet from a rock formation in Utah. Anthony Alvin of Green Lake, Wis., was with a group of scouts and scout leaders when he fell Saturday morning at Gemini Bridges, near Moab.
