Every year Girl Scouts of the USA designates one Sunday to celebrate the organization and that special day took place this weekend. A service was held at Canfield Methodist Church on Sunday morning. Girl Scouts from several troops in the area took part in the event.

Boy Scout paper drive is Saturday

Alex Strohl, 16, an Eagle Scout in Troop 7, has been a Boy Scout for 10 years. Before him, his father Jeffrey Strohl was a Boy Scout who grew up to become a troop leader. Son watched father and grew to share his love of the outdoors, along with the qualities that Boy Scouts instill in young people. “My dad is my role model. He is an Eagle Scout and has been our Scout leader,” Strohl said.

Boy Scout Troop 254 Celebrates 40th Anniversary
Boy Scout Troop 254 celebrated its 40th anniversary Sunday with a luncheon and program. Troop 254 is sponsored by Tyner United Methodist Church. Over 170 Scouts, Scouters, family members, and local Scout Executives attended the function.
