Ceremonies mark Memorial Day
Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts decorated veterans’ graves with American flags Saturday at Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Decorating the graves of veterans — particularly those killed in battle — is a long-standing tradition. In fact, Memorial Day was once known as Decoration Day.
