Verona Scouts clean up
The second grade den from Cub Scout Pack 5 in Verona conducted its second annual clean-up in the woods behind F.N. Brown Elementary School. The clean-up fell during Earth Week this year and the scouts learned about recycling as they collected five large bags full of bottles, cans, and garbage.

FRANKLIN — Zipping down a steep incline, three 5-ounce cars raced down a 29-foot metal track reaching speeds of 150 mph. Their small, plastic wheels ground to the finish line, while young girls huddled at the end of the track erupted in applause.
